Hello and welcome to Lyonhart Cattery's website!

A PKD Tested Cattery

My name is Bev Roney. Thats me pictured to the left, holding GRC Johnorah's Mad About You of Lyonhart (retired), one of my early grands.

I've been breeding and showing persians since 1991. I specialize in Bicolors, Calicos and Vans, in both dilute and dominant colors, but also produce the occassional Solid and Particolor. I love the excitement of working with the bicolors, because of the unique and colorful patterns that are produced. Each litter is like opening a box of chocolates....you never know what your going to get!

My cats are essentially my children and all but my breeding males have the run of my house. I do very little caging. Only when necessary for queening or someone is recovering from surgery or illness and things like that. My boys are confined in large, walk-in sized enclosures in the stud room, but even they get some run time out in the room. Moms and their kittens are confined to the nursery until the kittens have received at least their first vaccination, at which time they are allowed out into the rest of the house under supervision.

Tour the Stud Room. I usually rotate the boys in & out of the walkin cages one at a time to run this large room. They can look out the door into the main cattery to watch the girls and older kittens and alters playing.

Tour the Nursery/Kitten Room. Check the french door on this room, which allows the cats in the house to look in and watch the kittens playing. Once kittens are old enough I leave the door to the room open during the day, so that the kittens and moms can come out into the rest of the house and mingle with the rest of the cats. When I do not have kittens, I sometimes confine the cats I am showing in this room at night or when I am at work. Otherwise I just leave the door open and the cats can wonder in and out as they please.
